Golden State Archers

What does the Adult Archery Program offer you?

The Adult Archery Program is a logical “next step” for adult archers pursuing this lifetime sport. Membership in USA Archery’s Adult Archery Program provides unique benefits, including the opportunity to make new friends, obtain a great upper-body workout, and the chance to build self-confidence and learn team-building skills.

Whether your interest in archery is purely recreational, or if you want to pursue competition at the local, state, national or international level, USA Archery’s Adult Archery Program is designed to help you pursue all that archery has to offer.

We’re a diverse group of individuals who have come together through the shared enjoyment of archery. We practice target archery for and have built an environment that caters to development, which encourages mutual respect no matter what level archer you may be. Learn more about the club members and come check us out!

Whether you are a parent of a JOAD archer or simply enjoy recreation or competitive archery, our club offers a place for you to shoot and earn your achievement awards.  Archers enjoy both shooting and competition with our members.    Club membership through USA Archery will allow you to earn both indoor and outdoor pins. The club has formal outdoor practice sessions along with indoor leagues during the winter months.  Many archers find the club setting helpful in fulfilling their goals of preparing for Local, Regional, State and National Tournaments.

Adult Star Pins
Adult Star Pins are awarded for scoring achievements. Adult archers can earn Stars Pins for shooting indoors and/or outdoors with recurve and/or compound bows. A full USA Archery Youth, Adult, or Family membership option is required to participate in the Achievement program, as required in the Club Membership Form.

Each Star Pin is a different color, and each has a successive number of stars on it to represent the increasing challenge in earning that particular award pin. In order to allow the greatest flexibility in terms of indoors/outdoors, recurve or compound, each pin can be earned in a variety of ways.

Adult Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards
Adult Archers can earn advanced levels of recognition with Bronze, Silver and Gold pins. USA Archery honors archers who reach these levels with special recognition. To earn an Adult Bronze, Silver or Gold Award the archer will be required to shoot the distance and target face that corresponds to their Class at National Events (i.e. Senior or Master)

Guidelines for the Scoring Matrices

1.  Archers participating in the Adult Achievement Award Programs will not be asked to re-earn       any pins they have already been awarded.
2.  Archers should earn pins one at a time, in consecutive order
3.  Archers progressing through the scoring matrices should use the new scoring guidelines \           starting with the next pin they are working toward.
4.  If an award level has more than one distance/target size, the club leader will choose what             target face to have the archer positioned at based on the skill level and experience of the             archer.
5.  To earn an Adult bronze, silver, or gold award pin, the archer will be required to shoot the           distance and target face that corresponds to their class at National Events (i.e. Junior,                   Collegiate, Senior Master).
6.  The Achievement Program is not based on gender.
